I learned a bit of piano, did clarinet a while ago....
Dont relaly remember any clarinet but I play duets with my aunts quite a bit
me: flute and am learning piano and cello.
my daughter is a percussionist (drums, marimba, bells, xylo. you name it she plays it)
oldest son plays double bass (that would be the big one in the back of the orchestra:) ), electric bass, and is learning acoustic.
youngest son plays violin, and is teaching himself acoustic guitar and is trying to peck at the piano. he wants an electric guitar.
hubby... just listens and smiles. he is the band kids equivalant of a soccer dad :dance2:
all told, in the house we have more invested in instruments that in furniture or technology AND NO HOMEOWNERS (who's the idiot - me)

yep, 8.
clarinet, bass clarinet, saprano, atlo, tenor, and bari saxophone, piano, and a bit of trumpet.
Played the recorder as a compulsory instrument in primary school but I played the harmonica for about a year until it was stolen by a magpie who liked shiny objects.

Primarily viola, though not much lately.
I also know how to play (with varying degrees of ability) piano, violin, guitar, recorder. The theories of cello and flute do exist within me, but I can't say as what comes out of the instruments would count as music :P

I got kicked out of my piano class when I was 10. I had this barking mad instructor named Madame Zsalinsky. She dressed like the love child of a witch and a gypsy, and she was a total space cadet. Anyway, she found out I was playing by rote, and when I refused to learn to read music and told her it was a waste of time, she kicked me out. My mother was less than thrilled. Apparently piano lessons are expensive.

I was raised on piano, and I still like it best. I'm actually very glad I got taught to read music - it tells you when to go up, and go down, and usually by looking a song, I can get a very good idea how it's going to go. (And everybody else just kinds of stands behind me and waits for me to tell them if it's the wrong song, or when they don't know it.)
Being able to read chords/tabs and sheet music is awesome if you get to play with other people. Chords let you learn to improvise your own style, but you can still play a song, note for note if you need to.
I also know enough on guitar to fake most songs, so I can vocal to them. I actually got pretty good at bass guitar when I was younger, and I got to play in some celtic and blues bands. Turns out bass isn't all that useful if you're by yourself though. I'm still working on my coffee house gig. :(
My hubby also used to play bass. We met playing in bands. His band opened for mine. *chuckle* He won't play anymore though.
My sister went from piano, to flute. GO figure... how's that translate?!
My latest endeavor... getting through all the songs from Guitar Hero II on Expert...

Bodhran (irish drum)
Good to see another bodhran tipper on the board!
I have a bass, strat and an acoustic guitar. Can't play anything more then scales and twinkle twinkle on any of them... yet.
Played around with a tin whistle and harmonica. In grade school I tried flute and trombone.
The digeridoo is the only instrument I can kinda play OK. It only has one note so no music theory is required. I just haven't got the circular breathing thing down yet.
The casio keyboard is fun to mess around with. My son has drums and an assortment of precussion instruments we all play around with.

Cool. I played the alto at that age aswell. Stopped playing in College due to not having enough time.
However, I've been playing the piano for 19 years, and I'm quite proud of it. :)

People have been trying to teach me to whistle since I was a tiny tot. I've tried every method there is, and I still can't whistle. It might be genetic, because my dad can whistle ANYTHING, but my mum can't whistle, either.
HOWEVER, I can unwrap a Starburst candy AND tie a double knot in a cherry stem with my tongue, so I figure it all works out in the end.
