Ok I got these little guys for my planted tank. They are still really small(not even an inch)but only 2 days after they went into the tank they had their first spawn. However on the second day the eggs dissapeared.I think the female ate them as the entrance to her cave(coconut shell) is really only big enough for her to fit in.The thing is the pair are still defending the cave. Will this stop when they realise theres nothing to protect?I used to breed cockatoos before and never saw this behavour. The only difference is it was triple reds I used to have(these were labled as sunburst or starburst).

Hers a few pics.

The male(he is pretty tough for his size and thinks nothing of attacking fish almost 5 times his size), you can see the female peeking out too.

I'm not sure about that behaviour. They'll probably figure it out eventually and stop guardian the imaginary eggs.

It's nice to see someone else with Cockatoos though. I got a pair of double reds about 3-4 months ago and they really enjoy their new planted tank.
