Doesn't sound like a bad living at all. You don't even need any "schooling" really, just experience.

I think i would give up firefighting to do something like that if the pay was comparable.. and some of you know my passion for the emergency services. :p:

It's a FS job.

I did that some in HS. I'd like to know who makes that kind of $ doing it - as far as I remember, it wasn't the guys carrying the buckets.

whats fs job?
I have 1 side job doing it and the money isn't bad. It is a great job, but when ur ur own boss situations tend to change. You must provide superb customer service and satisfaction. The thing is is if I didn't have another job I would be at their mercy, unless I had so many accounts that losing 1 wouldn't mean anything.
I can believe that it could pay in the 50,000 range... 85,000 could be possible if u worked 60 hours many weeks.

well i used to service for my old work and then i just kinda branched on my own when i was layed off. then kept them when i was re hired and went form there to be fired on a drug induced rant of my old boss....lol. i also do construction..so if i see an aquarium i give the home/business owner a price and go from there.

yep... whats ones trash is another's treasure.
Germanman, ur work in construction, maintain fish tanks, and have a major in marine bio. Its sounds like ur set. I am guessing ur not pursing a career in marine bio b/c there isn't enough money in it?
I worked with 2 marine bio majors, they were bartenders at a restaurant:thm:

That job would not be for me. I would compare it to an auto mechanic. I dont mind working on my car from time to time, but no way in hell would I want to work on everyone else's for a living.

Sounds like a great job!

Clean some tanks... "Clean" some Frags... its all good... Frags always need pruning, and are you really gonna "Dispose of them" Drop em in the buckett and takem home!

The perks sound great to me... plus you get to see, learn about other peoples setups and mistakes...

Plus the side $ would be nice

i charge a $50-80 service charge and then an hourly rate ranging form $20-50 an hour depending on tank size, and the amount of work needed...more if its built into a wall etc.

If they could somehow throw active directory and DNS into it, I might be interested ;)
