I'm setting up a 25 gallon tank and thinking of getting these fish and need to know if the tank would work out.
1 male betta
Some Swordtails
Some Cories
2 Bristlenose Pleco's
Would this be an ok community or would it not work out? If it wouldn't what would be wrong with it?

Don't put 2 plecos in the same tank, especially a small tank. There is no need.
It might work, but make sure the swordtails don't nip the bettas fins.

I'm putting 2 in the same tank hoping they will breed.
swordtails multiply like crazy so prepare yourself :) my beta doesnt like one of my platys which are almost the same as a swordtail, but he never attacks it. i think you should be fine.

I've seen male bettas do fine in community tanks before, and I've heard of other people keeping them with no problems.... but I tried my betta in a community tank once and it just didn't work. Every betta is a little different, depending on how they were bred and raised, I suppose. Mine... well, let's just say that mine really lives up to his name as a "Fighting Fish." He HATES all other fish, even those that are supposed to be safe tank mates.
I'm not saying all bettas will be like mine. But if you want to put a male betta in your community tank, make sure you provide lots of cover...lots of plants, cave areas, hiding places. I wouldn't keep a betta in a community tank any smaller than 20g (they are territorial, he'll need enough space to claim a little spot in the tank), so that's good. Keep an eye on him... give him some time to get used to it, but be prepared to house him in a smaller tank of his own if you notice any trouble.... I mean, if you notice anyone nipping at his fins, or like in my case, vise versa.
OH, and be careful with the kind of filter you choose. You don't want something that is too strong and creates too much current -- your betta will have a hard time swimming -- those flowing fins will act like sails!

Well the tank I'm putting him in is around 25g. i think. I'm going to set it up so there is free swimming space, caves, lots of plants(fake). and some rocks!
How amny gallon per hour filter should i get?
