Hi there,
i would like a anchor/frogspawn/hammer/torch coral well one of them as there almost the same in appearance but i only have 4 x T5 54watt tubes over a 48" aquarium 55 UK gallons....
is this possible & would i need a calcium reactor or any further equipment??
& where would they need to be placed within the aquarium upper/middle/lower level?
many thanks

Nope. I have 4x54 T5 lighting on mine and I have 4 heads of frogspawn. That's 4watts/gallon...which is just about right for a lot of things. ;)
Your lighting will be fine for a frogspawn / hammer / torch coral.
You wouldn't need a calcium reactor just for that coral, but it might make maintaining your calcium levels that much easier if you have / will have more calcium demanding corals in your tank. Otherwise, regular monitoring and dosing of a good calcium additive should be fine.
Placement in your tank kind of depends... 4 x 54w T5s... Are you using an individual reflector on each bulb, or is there just one reflector for all the bulbs? Basically, placement would be in the low to mid level of the tank in an area that gets moderate, indirect flow. If there's too much flow, the coral won't fully extend. It should slowly wave gently back and forth in the current.

yea should just be fine. i recommend reef crystals and if needed after a good buffer instead of a reactor.

thanks,
my lighting has individual reflectors for each tube & i`ve used reef crystals around 8months now so that's good that i wont need to change salt etc
