Hi guys, we have an indian glassfish, parambassis ranga, in a 100 litre brackish tank. Salinity is 2ppt (using Tropic Marin reef salt). Tankmates are mollies, guppies and bumble bee gobies, all doing well. The glassfish was OK for a month, feeding on live and frozen daphnia, sometimes bloodworm, but now he's generally looking unwell, his swimming motion is jerky, and he won't feed - he generally takes something in his mouth but then spits it out!
I know that these fish can be tricky to keep, but he seemed to have settled in well and was feeding ok. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong and what we could try to get him feeling better?

one or two more should help but in that small of a tank w/ tankmates i don't know.
they should readily accept all kinds of food, mine really digs just simple flakes.

sounds to me likes its on its way out :(
possibly internal infection.
 either quarantine it and/or try using some internal medication.

I had the same problem with my glassfish, I lost 3 fish before i found my current 4 fish. I noticed that addition of other glassfish does help, but make sure to get 3 at a time. Mine also seemed to brightened up with more plants in the tank. Try feeding at dawn or dusk that seems to work for me. I feed mine flakes, frozen bloodworms. My SG is at 1.06. 15% water changes. My water also contains some tannins due to driftwood. Hope that helps I'm glad that someone else likes and keep these cool fish.

I just thought of something else. Or other fish (platies, guppies) in the tank may stressing out the glassfish. They do like slower, quiet waters. Mine is a species tank mostly.
