I like to be creative, and naming a fish after a character in the most famous fish movie of all time is corny.

I do, Nemo and Dory but not of my own free will. We can thank my two-year-old for that. None of the other fishes even have names, she just calls them all by the type of fish they are, lol.

I think we need an option "none of the above" because it won't let you vote unless you have selected an option. Besides, I prefer names like Frank for the Rabbit fish, or Donny for the Midnight Pygmy Angel... Hang on, aren't they from a movie..?

nemo and dory thanks to the 4 year old. I just call them clowns and regals. But theres nothing like when I go to the LFS and people say Oh look its a Nemo fish...lol. I named my big emeral crab HULK cause hes BIG and GREEN :D

I haven't really named mine yet, but he does deserve the Nemo tag after Fridays stunt of jumping into my filter for morning feeding. Named my 3 hermits because they were my first pets and I was excited: Scarlet, Rocky, Tiny, and Sleepy (he was pretty much dead on arrival... rip, sleepy)

All the above compatable fish, nemo,marlin, dory, bubbles ( a lemonpeel not a tang) gurgle, bruce( an indigo hamlet not a shark) dabs (a humbug damsel)
Waiting for the tank to stabalise and mature after upgrade then will be adding gill. Upgraded december 2006 still not happy and in no rush.
I had never kept fish before starting with an 100 litre impulse buy from EBAY, over 3 years ago, only regret is i havent more money and room...

oh and my diamond goby is named tonka for obvious reasons... as far as nemo names go im personally sick of hearing them at the LFS i work at.

I am proud to say that, although I name my fish, not a single one of them is named after any of the characters in Finding Nemo, although I did enjoy the movie!!

I actually named my first perc 'Not Nemo', just because everyone says, 'Oh look! Nemo!!!!'

So, it's kind of named after the movie. ;)

1 Sleeper Goby - Jigsaw(cause he killed our Lawnmower blenny by stressing it out RIP Benny the Blenny, I know so original)
1 Bicolor Blenny - Bonita(was a female when bought or stressed not sure but it was all one color, now it's got the yellow half)
1 Longhorn Cowfish - Unnamed so far but thinking about Popcorn or Kernel
1 Flame Angel - Unnamed aswell...not sure Hmmm

But I loved the movie and can't wait to see the 3rd SHREK too!

My seven year old named my last puffer Bloat. He later died. I feel naming sometimes curses them.

I you want DO NOT have a moorish idol, if you even can get one. I volunteer at a zoo in Wa state and they had one for about a year, and it eventually died. Try the bannerfish. I see they are also called the poor mans moorish idol.

I worked in aquatics for PETCO before the movie came out. I however, volunteer at a zoo in Wa state and when they opened the new sea horse exhibit, they had a clown fish. Oy, for how many times I heard "look its Nemo" that summer.
