Is Uv Sterilizer benefit to a saltwater tank? Does it really help? :confused:

i think so but its a matter of opinion. mine has helped with parasites as well as diatoms so i say yes. i only run it when its needed though.

I run mine 24/7. I think they r a must in a marine tank, whether it be reef or fish only. I run mine on its own pump in the sump water comes out of the sump and goes back into the sump. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=11472&N=2004+113778

usually the installation is pretty straight forward if u follow the directions. most require a pump and some even come with the needed pump.

I also think they're a benefit but not a necessity. I have one on each of my larger SW tanks as well as my freshwater tank. I have the same kind Germanman has.
