If he has the Multipsinosa Rainbow Cichlids, I'd get those...or else some of the other, gentler Archocentrus spp.

I'm thinking the Myrnaes would be nice, as would the Cutteris, or either of the Thorichthys species.

Unfortunately, I can't find albino Goldens, nor can I find the undescribed species. I can, however, link you to a pic of the Myrnae: http://www.cichlidae.com/tanks/t039-es.html

think a 2 inch myrane can hold its own with a pair of 3 inch sajicas?

ChilDawg
05-18-2003, 7:44 PM
Hmm...Sajicas are known to be a little nasty, aren't they? I might not risk that combo.

Is this for the Oscar tank? With a little rockwork, you could get another Sajica pair.

caz
05-18-2003, 7:50 PM

ChilDawg

The Myrnae might do all right if there are some rocks...just watch carefully to be sure.

2,000 posts, ya'll!!! :)

ChilDawg

Nor can I, but find info on the Black-Belt (V. maculicauda), and that should help some.

They do get to be 9-10", at least by what Donald Conkel has in his book.

ChilDawg

For the longest time, it was Cichlasoma sajica and is now Cryptoheros sajica, as far as some sources are concerned.

caz

ChilDawg

Conkel has no synonyms listed for Herotilapia multispinosa.

thanx man. i went to 4 lfs and gave them all the scientific names i could find, and they said they would contact their dealers and see what the could come up with. i also have the search out for rainbow cichlids too. one of the guys is pretty confident he can find the rainbow cichlids though so im stoked about that. it shocked me how few of people know about the blue eye's i think they are a stunningly beautiful fish. if i cant find any of these, any other suggestions?
something 4 to 6 inches, can live with fish its own size, no drastic water preferences? not so difficult to find! hehe

Firemouths!

caz
05-19-2003, 11:06 AM
besides them :)

ChilDawg
05-19-2003, 11:11 AM
Picky, aren't we? :)

The Golden Firemouth (Aureum) would not be a bad choice, and these beauties are a little more exotic, but are still often available.

caz
05-19-2003, 11:16 AM
ok ill give them a look. anything else? its for a 75 gallon tank so i can get a few more fish :D

caz
05-19-2003, 11:19 AM

ChilDawg
05-19-2003, 11:40 AM
There are all sorts...there are none of the albino ones, though...Google Thorichthys aureum or Cichlasoma aureum for what you need.
