hi..
i might travel or may be move permanently to other place .. and its far away that i will need to fly for about 7 hours... so what the bes that i can take my fishes along .. ?? putting them in water bottle ? .. but wat abt the oxygen .. ?

Any chance of someone fedexing them to you once you have arrived at your new location and have a tank set up for them?

Or pack them in bags in a well padded in a styrofoam box. Plane cargo holds can get very cold in the air and very hot on the ground, so good insulation is a must.

And check before you go that you aren't bringing banned fish to your new home!

i only have 3 goldfish and 1 gaurami and a cat fish ...
and about in cargo .. iaccording to my info... temperature is same in the whole plane...
how abt putting them in water bottles ?.. rather then bags ... ??

Cargo is a very risky procedure. The cargo hold get very cold while in flight and very warm on the ground, as someone mentioned. The temperature in the cargo hold is NOT controlled. Bottles wouldn't work either, they don't make bottles big enough, last time I checked, and you wouldn't be able to regulate the temp there either... I would ship them 2nd day before I left, take the tank, ect. down, and back the filter and gravel in a bag of water in a box that you plan on taking with you when you move, then fly to your new location, and set up the tank right away with your still wet media, you probably won't have much of a mini-cycled, so once your fish arrive, just plop them into the tank.

Find new homes for them and start anew at your new loction.

that's your best bet.. my family and i will be moving across the US next year and we'll be doing the same thing.. with the exception of the plants. must take the plants...... :D (if its legal)
