hi all- the name of this topic speaks for itself. if sand is it, then how does one make sure that fish feces do not get sifted into the substrate? i am thinking about the play sand stuff at home depot or lowes. gravel is nice, but i am sorta leaning towards something new. i would have an emperor 280 and a sponge filter running in the tank.

if you like sand go with sand. a lot of people like pool sand better then play sand. i used play sand and didnt have a problem as long as you washed it well.
