Hi people, please, please could you give me some advice on Mainganos I have two in a tank, one is what you guys called holding. Now I know nothing about Cichlids so,
1) how can I tell if they are male and female, hence if the eggs are going to come to anything?
2) Should there be gravel or plants in with her?
3) What colour are the eggs if fertile?
4) She has been holding the eggs for at five days, how long does it take for the fry to be independent of mum?
5) What actually do I do? and when do I do it?
6) Are mainganos protective over fry or will they just eat them because they can?
