Try to avoid algae boom!
I am going to upgrade my tank from 120L to 270L. This is how I am going to start it up, and transfer all things from my old tank to the new tank, please kindly spot any problem.
1) Add 10 pounds of live sand
2) Add 200L RO water
3) Cure 20 pounds LRs from my old tank and add to new tank
4) Add all the sponges/bioballs/biorings into the display tank, they will go to the sump once N-cycle finished
5) Add 5 meshed dead shrimps
6) Add 50mL of live bacteria
7) Switch on the wave maker and directly blow to the sponges
8) Cover the tank with a cloth for complete darkness
9) Wait for 2 weeks
10) Cure the rest of LRs (45 pounds) from my old tank and add to new tank
11) Transfer all corals/fishes/inverts into the new tank
12) Setup the sump using the old tank while the old water remain there, move all sponges/bioballs/biorings to the sump
13) Add 70L RO water to the display tank to run the sump
