For those of you that keep Angelfish and Bolivian Rams together, do you ever have aggression issues between them? I have 1 medium sized Angel and a Bolivian (about 2.5-3"....basically full grown I guess) in my 55g with tetras, cories, loaches, otos, and a bristlenose. I had 2 bolivians but one recently passed on while I was on vacation.
I am having some aggression issues with the Bolivian chasing and nipping (occasionally) at the angel. I know Angels can be aggressive as well and I'm not worried about the Bolivian killing the Angel or anything. I would like to add a few more Bolivians to the tank soon though and I'm worried about 4 of them going after my Angel and what that kind of stress will do to him/her. Should I worry? Do you think with 3 other Bolivians, that mine will focus on the others and not my angel? The nipping isn't bad yet, but I'm worried it will get worse. The Bolivian that died also chased the angel, but never nipped and this one seems to have taken over that role, but more aggressive.
Do ya'll think I'll be ok adding a few more? I'm hoping to get a mix of females and males, as the ones at the LPS are hard to sex and while I thought this one was a female, I think its a male now (tail extensions are getting longer...).
My tank is kind of heavily planted....I've been moving plants around this week so there are a few open areas that will fill in soon I hope.
TIA!
