 Sad to say but about a week & half ago I lost my porcupine puffer, I was sitting in the kitchen when I heard my pumps making a loud sucking noise I ran in only to discover that my one overflow stopped siphoning and that my tank was about to overflow, only one overflow could not keep up. To make a long story short my puffer got into my overflow and was sucked up and was stuck in the pipe, I had to cut the pipe to get him out little did I know that he was right where I was cutting and I cut his tail off but he was still a live I put him into another tank but died a few days later. The problem has been fixed where the fish can't get into the overflow and I plan on getting another puffer.

Very sorry to hear that. I got very attached to my Porcupine, lots of personality. More than some humans I know!

Thats what I have heard and I'm looking forward to getting another one. How long do they usually live?

It does suck when you loose a fish especially one like a porcupine puffer, it was just one of those deals and have to move on I guess. Thanks for all your concerns.

I have ALWAYS wanted a PP but since the gf and I turned my tank into a reef so went my pred tank :( I did a DIY set up to cover my overflows while not make it look all weird looking, after loosing my lawnmower bleenie, True percula, and a number of diffrent cromis I decided that enough was enough. I can post some pics if you like.

OFF TOPIC but do you think that a PP would do well in a 55G? or would they need a 75G + tank??? I WANT MY PRED TANK!!!!!

Yes that would be great although they can still can get into the overflow they can't get sucked up I have strainers on the siphons. But I still think if I could keep them out of the overflows it would be less stress on the fish.

tankanator, off topic but are there any good LFS in your area, or the Baltimore/DC area? I'm going to be up that way in June (I live on the Eastern Shore) and I'd love to scope out a good LFS.

Yes there is it's called Roozens Nursery and yes they do sell saltwater fish allot of saltwater fish, they are located at (8009 Allentown Rd Fort Washington, MD) go to http://www.roozens.com/ to look at it from the outside you would never tell that they sell fish but they do and only saltwater fish. I live in Frederick MD and I go to my LFS which is (Rick's Fish and Pets) a small store and don't have a great selection of saltwater fish but they don't feed you allot of BS and they know what they are talking about when comes to saltwater. They are the ones that help me get started in saltwater. There Address is (1003 W Patrick St #J Frederick MD
