My RO Unit came today, along with the majority of the items I need to start my tank up again. Excited :dance2:

I'm currently running the RO unit and discarding the first ten gallons as suggested by the manufacturer. I understand the care that needs to be administered to the RO Membrane itself, but what about the other filters? After I'm done using the unit do I need to empty the water out of the other three filter canisters?

I leave water in my 3 canisters. I do weekly water changes so I'm going to need to use it again soon so I don't bother to drain it. From what I understand this is fairly common practice.

it should say in your manual when you'll need to get new membranes or clean them, but I'm guessing its not for many months or after very heavy use of the unit.
