No it's most likely a red volitan. And Lionfish are safe with anything they can't easily swallow. They are very mellow fish. I'd be more worried about that sea horse then a tang
Well kinda, it really depends on the Lion... I've seen successful setups where a 1ft Lionfish was housed with several fish 1"-3" long.
It really helps to move them to frozen / prepared foods because it weeds out aggression and is so much more healthier.
But then again, I've read several posts across the internet about them inhaling the strangest things, fish near THEIR size, cleaner shrimp, hell even hermit crabs
Thanks for your comments, I had an initial problem with a horse as it had boyacy probs. the tang is fine with the lion however as riverserver said i am concerned about the lion and horses. but thing seem ok at the mo. I think the plan for feeding the lion frozen foods is to give it no option.It remains to be seen.
