I went to a meeting of the New Jersey Reefers Club today. They have a raffle at the end. You buy tickets and stick them in cups with pictures of frags on them.

I ended up winning 7 frags and a hydor powerhead.

Sweet.

2 kinds of zoos
blastos
some kind of SPS
Some other kind of SPS
Yellow Polyps

I think maybe that's it. I won so much, I can't even remember what it was. Lol

I never buy any tickets.

never won anything like that myself....Really chuffed, taking in the last few weeks of your systems, this should be a really nice "pick me up" for you mate....

Look forward to seeing some pictures of the new frags...

Well, here's how the raffle works:

People donate frags to the club.

Then, they charge $3 a ticket, 2 for $5, and so on. I bought 24 for $30.

Then they set up plastic cups with pictures of the frags on them, and you throw yours into whichever cup you want, and later they dump the cup in the hat and someone draws out a wining ticket.

$30 for 7 frags isn't too bad...especially when one is blastos...I've always liked those! :)

Do a little surfing.

The meets are scattered. I think the next one is ...well, i don't know yet. This one was down in Moorestown (took me about 45 mins to get there from the Princeton area).

Well worth joining the club!
 
sounds fun. anything there for non-reef owners?
