Hi, This is phils son. The tank is 55 gallons and it is in my room so I get to pick the fish. Here are some fish that i'm thinking about. Mollys are my favorite fish so they can't be eliminated (they are not in order by favorite).

1. Molly
2. Clown loach
3. Kribs
4. Neon tetras
5. Pengiun fish
6. upsidedown catfish
7. Flying fox
8. Rasboras
9. Guppies
10. Platies
11. Serpae tetras
12. Beta
13. Corydora
14. Cerry Barbs

Me too.

No clown loaches, they'll get too big, the guppies are a no if you want to have a betta, and so are the barbs. The betta will want to kill the guppies because they resemble other bettas, and the barbs will nip the betta's tail. I think most of the others will be ok, but I'm not positive, I don't know a lot about the rest. Maybe someone else could give some insight?

serpae tetras are nippy with them selves so the Betta may get nipped also don't know about the Betta and the krib together but maybe its a big tank so maybe
flying fox gets to 6 inch but i think they need to be by themselves
and the corydorus need smooth gravel or smooth sand also any other loaches would need that too.

cherry barbs love to nip fins of other fish and can become very territorial. clown loaches get on the large side. and can uproot plants fake or other wise

It seems anything with a bright color the beta is going to go after.....if it is a female beta you may be alright, but a male beta you may have some issues

The color doesn't matter, it's the fins that matter.
