I have a 30g tank with an AC 110! Even if I turn it all the way down, I'm concerned about too much current for some fish. I don't have any fish in this tank and was wondering if anyone had any comments on this. Is this a real concern? Any stocking suggestions? Are there more fish out there that would be ok than not ok? HELP!!!!

Is the flow head rotatable? I have mine turn to splash up against the back wall of the tank to reduce the current. Another option is to simply place a large plant or even better a large decoration/rock formation in front of the stream (it does not need to be the full height of the tank to be effective)

Most fo the S. American/Amazon fish are great choices. But if you deflect the flow it will be fine. Unless the flow is reaally bad, it shouldn't be an issue (i.e. filter over-sized for tank)

I agree with ct-death as far as blocking the current. What did you plan on keeping in the tank. Would you rather have a pair of 5 inch fish such as a pair of convict or firemouth cichlids, or would you rather have four schools of smaller fish such as neon tetras?

dvd.... I'm not sure what I'm going to keep in the tank yet. A couple cichlids sounds good....but I've been hearing a lot about how neat schools of fish look in tanks. Why?

Mgamer...would you put the sponge over the intake? Like I said, I'm new.
