Bn Plecos

what are your expireances with the bn plecos?

i bought 3 from mgamer and they did fine for a couple weeks now but 2 recently croaked and i looked at them... they had darker bellies (driftwood?) but were perfectly fine (no body disfunctions).....

what would cause them to die?

could my big angel be picking at them when they come out?.....

sorry to hear that. while i am not sure what happend to it i havent lost a single one from that tank.

yeah.. i mean they do perfectally fine and the one i have left is still sucking and hanging out..... i dont know why they would just croak...

and you were feeding it other stuff like zucchini?

I would also suspect diet. Even if you are putting in blanched veggies, not all of them may have been eatting.

I have one in a fairly new tank and was worried about feeding, so I placed only zuccinni in the tank (1 slice every 2nd day - removed and repeated) so the only source of food was the veggie. It took about 5 days before he got interested. Now he devours them! :eek:

the other issue I usually run into w/ BN is acclimation, but clearly that was a non-issue in your case after a couple of weeks.
