hi,

recently found a small tuff of apstasia on my new rock, heard all the bad things about it and now i want to get rid of it.. prob is, my tank has ricordia coral (those soft anemone lookalike green and brown thing) on the rocks as well..

what is a good fish/creature to add in to my tank to get rid of the apstasia without harming those corals and small fish(2 baby occ clowns, 2 cleaner shrimp).

feel free to voice out ur opinions! =)

nothing wrond with peppermint shrimp (make sure they are true though) Also if you dont want to add anything you could blast the glass nem using a turkey baster with HOT water. Should shrink right up. I think andy suggested one time about Joes Juice. Not sure if its reef safe or not. I had some snails eat some of mine. I think they where Astereas (sp?) snail

lol of course joes juice is reef safe.... its just highly concentrated calcium in liquid form...

peppermint shrimps
copper bands
and bergia nudibranches
are supposta take care of them but they add to the bio load

home remedies include

kalwasser
hot water
lemon juice
tabasco

store bought

joes juice
rid aptasia

all of these will eat or melt the aptasia away

I never used it so I did not know. I usually let my peps eat mine. I finally got rid of all mine too.:bday:

We added a couple peppermint shrimp and all our aiptasia disappeared in a matter of days (we weren't infested or anything). Since finishing off the aiptasia, they just scavenge for food like our skunk cleaner shrimp.

Boiled water and a syringe, a turkey baster will work but if it's in your LR turkey baster will not reach it. Save money go to CVS buy a syringe and boil water it may take a few times but it will work. Just killed two of them tonight.

I was able to control mine with kalkwasser, but since I got peppermint shrimp I haven't seen any.

Had some early stage aipstasia in my relatiely new tank...Got 5 peppermint shrimp, next day all gone.
