Hey everyone i woke up this afternoon to find that one of my nems has found its way into my under gravel jet. I was jsut about to hook up my brand new pump to get it going again but id rather not kill him. any ideas on how to take this fella out with out killing him? Or should i just turn it on and let the water pressure push him out...haha:huh:

Perhaps it likes the flow in it's behind? I do not know how you would take it out. Maybe making high flow in that area might work.

i would imagine pointing a powerhead at him woudl do nothing but make him retract further into the tube. instead, try an ice cube if you can reach his foot.

yeah i tried pointing a powerhead at him and it just goes in. and an icecube wont work because its in pvc under the sand under my lr. i think i might jsut turn on the pump and see what happens. haha

its a little harsh, but personally, i think the only way you are going to get the nem out, maybe by water pressure behind it in the pipe. Yes, doing it this way can of course go two ways...1) rip the nem apart or 2) it comes out with ease. I would always suggest trying other methods first before using force of water....
