View Full Version : Any clues what this is?

Found it on some live rock I added to my tank today. It is about 3/16ths of an inch to give you some scale. The yellow coral like thing. Oh and the red things also look like tiny corals as well. I know they aren't but any idea on those as well? A good number of those on the rock.

Possibly coral skeletons.

Red are probably FORAMINIFERANS.

sponges, for both, i have the little yellowthings and a few still (i think) of the reds. most died off after the cycle. just denign filter feeders.

Thanks! From looking around I'd say you nailed it. They look like the Homotrema rubrum variety and they are prolific on the rock.

I hope they don't die off. They are very cool to look at.
