i have a few questions about the breeding of angels.
Questions:
one: How long does it take from the minute that are laid to the minute they should hatch? (apporximatley)

two: My female Angels (two different pairs) have laid eggs in the past week, are the eggs surposed to be sticky, my first angel is laying them on the glass and the second was laying them on an almost verticle leaf, and the eggs kept dropping to the ground, well if they made it past the hungry sharks.

And any info u could give me on breeding please say, thank you.

Are these seasoned parents? Meaniung, have they successfully bred before with babies as the result or are these yound angels? Normally, the eggs will stick to any surface that they choose to spawn on, the male will clean the area for spawning, I guess this helps in stickiness. Most new parents will eat their first few batches of eggs too, so don't be surprised to see that. Their eggs are normally a tannish color and if completely white, they are infertile. I believe it usually takes 3 to 4 days to hatch but I've never gotten that far with my own experiences.

I have been breeding angels for a couple of years now. If you are going to raise the eggs artifically, then you will need to pull the eggs out of the tank 3 to 4 hours after they started laying. I hatch the eggs in a seperate one gallon jar with water from the tank they came out of. You will need to use methal blue or some other type of anti fungal agent. I normally add about 4 drops of methal blue to the one gallon jar. You will also need a air stone for current to run close to the eggs to similate the fanning of the eggs from the parents. You want to keep the jar at about 80 degrees. If this is done correctly and the eggs are fertile they will normally turn into what are called wigglers in about 3 days. The eggs that turn white are either infertile or have gotten fungus. If all the eggs turn white and nothing happens after about 5 days, then you don't have a mated pair. I have had female angels lay eggs with no male. But this is the easiest way to see if you have a pair. I currently have about 200 koi/smokey angel fry that just started free swimming yesterday at about day 6 or 7. Raising angels is not easy until you get the hang of it. It does require a lot of work (water changes and they need to be fed live baby brine shrimp 3 times a day). Hope this helps and if you have any further questions ask.
