Could any one advise how much salt I need for a 6'1" x 30" x 28" how much should I expect to pay as it seems my local shops are rip off merchants. Any recommendations re stores to purchase from, and best brands??

Well that's roughly a 265gallon tank. So you'll need 265gallons of water + how much is in your filtration system.

Just picked up 160 gallons of Instant Ocean from Dr. F&S, it shipped with 80lbs of sand for $16 plus its on sale now. I would keep at least 2.5 times what your tanks holds in salt mix, you never know when you're going to have to do a large water change.

another suggestion would be get premixed water not sure how much it would be to fill a 265 maybe they could cut you a deal or something. I think mine is a dollar per gallon. I would ask if I could do like 50 cents a gal. But that still 132bucks plus you have to drive back and forth. Do you have a ro system installed? I know my local Petco sell a 65G salt bucket for 80 bucks or so and my LFS sells the same one for 90 its freakin expensive getting a big tank alls I know is I got all my salt for free since I spend over a grand on LR. and ive been buying RO/DI or RO/DI premixed ever since. Now I only spend around 30 dollars on water a month. and thats doing top off and pwc.
