I have a 55g tank with 4 fancy goldfish. I got a 30g for the 2 "special" ones. Which leaves 30g left to stock in the 55. Any suggestions, other then goldfish?

i think some of the corys that like colder water peppered is one hillsteam loach but then you need a powerhead golds might eat them
seach cold water fish

Maybe some Rosy Red Minnows (Pimephales promelas)? Maybe a couple of weather loaches (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus)? Both of those will get larger than the mouth of the goldfish. Just not sure whether you would be able to squeeze in a small group of weather loaches.

Also, the rosy red minnows are usually sold as feeders, which could be risky as they might have diseases considering the way that they are usually kept in LFS. Although, I have kept them with 2 ryukins, a fantail and an oranda.

I doubt goldies will eat their tankmates. I have bettas with mine, and they get along very well. Although I do keep a fairly warm "coolwater" tank, at 75.
I also have apple snails, and they are absolutely totally wonderful. I adore them. Lots of personality for creatures with no brains! I'd definitely recommend them. Plus they're good at cleaning up leftover food! :)

weather loaches seem cool. They wont get too big will they? I want to be able to keep in that tank for life. I already have apple snails.

I think 2-3 round-bodied goldfish are the most you should have in a 55G. And actually, as they grow to their full size, the 55G will be too small for even one.

But their fancy goldfish. They aren't as big as the others.

Whoops, I have 25g open not 30g.

Most of the stuff I have read here says 6-7in and 20g for first one and 10g for every additional one. On my 55 I have an Emperor 400(80g) and a Penguin 350(75g) Thats 155g of filtration.

IMO, I wouldn't add more.
