Hey, I just set up a 5.5 gallon saltwater. I don't really know what fish I want to keep, or invertebrates. It has a while to cycle, but I want to know what I should start with.

I would suggest, NO FISH!!!!!!!

Just inverts and coral.

INVERTS: Cleaner shrimp, sexy shrimp, Fire shrimp, Mantis shrimp, Peppermint Shrimp, Maybe an Arrow crab (not to sure though??)Emerald crab, Sally lightfoot crab, Hermit crabs, scarlet hermit crab, Maybe a brittle star (not to sure though, im guessing prob not) Nassarius snails, Margerita, Astarius, turbo snails. If there is anything you are contemplating we can let you know if it will be a good idea or not.

Just my 2 Pennies.

No fish would probably be best, however, there are some species of gobies that are suited to tanks around that size, such as the panda gobie. I beleive some people have also had luck with neon gobies in 5g as well.

A clown goby would work. They just perch on your rock and corals most of the time, so their behavior is more suited to a small tank than a lot of other fish.
