Hi guys, a friend of mines tanks been running for 2 weeks now, algea is blooming everywhere, have not done any tests yet. could someone tell me at what stage of the cycle this tank is at the moment? ( got liverock in there and a nemo)

Yes, the algae blooms are all part of the system being new..

As you have clown fish in there, you really do need to be starting to do water tests for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. There is a high chance that the tank water could be poisoning the clown fish from the ammonia so you need to know what is going on in the tank...

I would do tests ASAP and also monitor the clown fish. If hes acting all weird Not eating swimming sluggishly I would adjust SG, temp, and water params. Best of luck

Hi guys thanks, ill tell my buddy. Is algae bloom not a significant indication that the cycle has reached nitrate peak?

You need to be a little more specific with respect to algae. What kind is it? Some are indicators of water quality, whereas others are just part of the cycle.
