Are these two species of Puffer fish capable of surviving in a freshwater tank? or do they need to be permanently kept in brackish water?

Neil

PS I am thinking of buying one of these but I need more info before I do.

"Topaz" puffers are generally the Ceylon puffer (Tetraodon fluvilitas). High-end BW -SW as adults. Grow to 7-8", require at least a 40g tank.

"Potato" puffer--not really sure what species that is. Maybe the T. miurus? Better find out 1st--maybe they could send you a pic & you can post here. Miurus is a FW puffer--extremely mean!

as far as i ever heard the only true freshwater only puffer is the congo puffer and they are very expencive
