Hi everyone!

I am just getting started and have a Nano-cube tank that is approx 12 gallons.

In it there is some well established live rock with a few tiny feather dusters.... 2 clowns, one cleaner shrimp and 2 emerald crabs.... I have added a few snails periodically but they seem to clean up the green algae then die on me

Anyway, lately I have had an issue with red slime algae.
Not the encrusting stuff ..... the kind that looks like a dark red slimey blanket over everything. I can blow it off with a turkey baster...... and have tried to skim out as much as I can ... but it's no use.

I have tried water changes, leaving the light off for a few days, and even some Phosphate Sponge .... but it never really goes away and within a couple of days it looks as bad as it did to start with.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

try using phosban isntead of the phosphate spounge. believe it or not, but it actualy does make a difference. what are the rest of yoru levels? how old are your bulbs? what is your flow rate like? try doing more water changes and feeding less, also.
