the goldfish will prob eat most plants you put in there.

It is doubtful the plants would last long with the goldies.

Many have kept heavily planted tanks with goldies. What type of goldfish out of curiosity? Ive just put some goldies in a temporary tank a few months ago along with a crapload of excess plants from my plant tank and it looks like the only plants they have even touched are duckweed and floating baby tears, which they can eat all those they want. My goldies are a couple commons and a couple shubunkins. And those are suppose to be more active plant eaters than the fancier ones.

In a planted tank? Only rams and kribs will leave your plants alone. The rest? They'll find a way to redesign everything in your tank.

I successfully kept java moss, hornwort, anacharis, and "onion plants" with my goldies without too much nibbling.

You could also post in the coolwater forum here. FWIW the plants I've had with my goldies now for a while are dwarf sag, various sword plants like amazon, red rubin. A few others but I'd have to take a better look at the tank to remember whats all in there (I am at work right now).
Keep in mind every fish is different. Some just feel like pulling everything up, some would care less, some actually will eat it, so it does in part depend on the individual (same goes for many different fish species).
