Has anyone else had problems getting java moss to grow? I have a bunch attached to a tree stump in a 20 gallon tank with about 80 watts of lights. It has been tied to the stump for about 2 months now and doesn't want to attach. How long does it usually take for this stuff to start growing? It doesn't appear to have grown in size either. I am thinking about dumping it soon if it doesn't start growing, because it is making a mess in my filter.
Thanks in advance.

i think that is too much light for java moss to grow... and now i may be wrong but it thought java moss grows better in low light situations... 80watts for 20gal seems like a lot. maybe try a dark spot in the aquarium... and maybe put a sponge on the intake to your filter... i dunno...

It grows terribly slow in my high light tank, but it exploded in my low light tank.

I have low light, and mine never attached either, I am constantly cleaning it off the filters. I am not sure why mne will not attach either :(

I have noticed that mine attaches well but if hit with the water during a water exchange, easily dislodges and then it gets stuck in my filter intake.

mines in .75 watt tank at the very bottom (on top of gravel) and it grows very fast.
