There's alot of off-brand junk on EBay, too; e.g., off-brand Chinese stuff that takes Eheim media and pads, and looks like Eheim, but is no where near the same quality.

I'd get two Eheim 2026's.

I like the eheim canister filters. I have a 125 gallon tank that housed some big South American cichlids for close to five years. For filteration I have two eheim classic 2215 running on this tank as well as an HOB aquaclear filter 110/500. I really like the eheim canisters filters. They are very quiet, and I mean super silent, extremely reliable in thier performance, and really can last years without a single problem. They do tend to be a bit pricey so if you can afford it I would go with the eheim filters.

Check out bigalsonline for canister prices. Plus if you're a regular customer you earn VIP points good for merchandise. I have never had any issues with them.:headbang2:

Also - they tend to sell kits w/ media. Saves $$ over sep. purchases.

Yeah, I've got a 350 pro on my 37 gallon tank. It stay spotless and only needs a little maintainence from time to time. It's been going for 4 years now without a hitch

I bought our mag for about 80 dollars, do those 120-200 dollar filters do anything that a mag cant, i can put whatever media i want in it, has high flow, simple to operate, i haven't seen any real tests on filters to compare them, but i just don't see how spending more is going to filter so much better thats its worth it.....:)

i'm partial to rena XP's... though i've heard great things about eheims...

stay away from older fluvals... they are not very user friendly.
