If you only have the two fish in the tank, they should be fine. They don't get as large as some cichlids. I wouldn't add anything else in the tank with them though.
What are the tank dimensions?
30cm wide,123cm long,50cm high, the tank contains 157 liters of water.
The tank is wide enough so that the fish should be able to turn around fine. If your fish ever approach 30 cm in length, than you should think about a wider tank.

Dont get as large??
I saw a HUGE one in the lfs, it must have been at least 12-14"
Either that fish was a mutant or it wasn't a Severum. It could have been a true Parrot Cichlid, they look very similar but get to be over a foot.
Severums rarely exceed 10 inches in length (at least in captivity).

It was not a mutant or hybrid, it was a gold severum.I might be able to get a pic of it if its still there.
I would like to see it...
