Ok, remember that plant thread a while back about wal mart bulbs for aquatic plants? I'm one of the lucky ones. Almost everything sprouted and is doing well. I can't remember which two varieties I got, but one type is sending runners right up to the top of the tank, with leaves on the tips. Not doing a lot of growing down at the bottom, but they keep sending more runners with more leaves at the top. The bottoms are kind of curly leafed, and I'd like some more of that at the substrate level.
So the question is, if I snip the runners, and keep snipping them, will the plants put more growth into the base instead of the top? Or will it throw away all it's energy in trying to run to the top?
