Well I ordered the sample pack of sand from www.moonglowcandles.com. More colors than you could ever think of using. Im using glass of water for a control and the FL. Green sand as the experiment.

The sand seems to clump together when first pored in

Stir it up a little bit and it forms small balls on top, but on the bottom it settles down to regular sand.

I dont know how long I am going to run this experiment, maybe test some water every week until the 4 week mark and post my finals results.

I was learning how to mix the sand so it wouldnt clump (found out it was air bubbles inside with a sand shell)

I put the sand in first then water, was better than green but still little clumpy. Stirred the water in a whirlpool and slowly poured the blue sand in and walla perfect mix! I also tried to melt it on a spoon over the fire just incase. Its sand:)

Little excess floats on top, skim it off and ur good to go. Sand settles pretty fast to.

How pricey?

You might want to leave it in glasses of water for a week or two and see if any of that color leeches out.
