I would like to have a 5 gallon all cory cat tank. Probably will have live plants, but only cat fish.
HOw many may I have in the tank. I would like to mix the catfish. Please share your suggestions.
Thank you to all who respond!

2 max, maybe 3 of the mid-water-swimming pygmies.
I wouldn't recommend it, and would suggest a bigger tank if you want to get the full benefit of mixing the species.

Corys vary in size. You need to stick with the smaller ones for a 5.5 gal tank. You can prabably get away with 5 or so pandas, a couple more more if you get pygmies. I would not put fewer than 3 of one kind in. Perhaps 3 pandas and 4 pygmies would work.
However, you need to be sure you do regular weekly maintainance on the tank and do not add any more fish.
I keep 3 pandas and a male betta in two dif 2.5 gal tanks which are filtered and heated. They have both wood and plants in them.
Also, I would suggest you fishless cycle the tank as pandas do not handle ammonia and nitrites well.
