noticed that recently my BTAs moved behind the rocks into hiding after the first few days of perfect bloom at the front..

just wanna ask, i have a pineapple butterfly, and 40W actinic blue light,
in a 15G tank.. is the light too strong for it thats why its hiding? will the butterfly nib at the BTAs?

help needed, thanks..

Tank is too small and not enough lighting.

Yes by rule the tank is too small BUT that is NOT why they moved, they moved in search of better lighting/water flow. Nems will move to where thay are happy, even if it is the back of the tank. What other lighting do you have on the tank, if none then I would say that they are looking for more light.

Please give us more info on your tank so that we can help you.

icic, i'm planning on putting one more white light at the top, hopefully that wld be enough..

water parameters are good, ammonia0 nitrite0.. ph abt 8.3..

i have a small maroon thats hosting..

how much more light is enough?

does it go by quantity(amount of tubes) or quality(high watts)..

it's weird because the back of my tank is partly shaded.. why wld it stay there for more lights?

You can build a MH pendant for around 100 bux. I think my best advise to you right now would be "Stop buying things and do a LOT of research!!!" Just because something looks pretty does not mean it can live in your tank. You will only cost yourself money and kill a lot of animals in the process if you don't do your research first.

nah its a little older than 5.. 6 or 7 maybe.. but i'm using aged water from a local fish farm.. its been reliable so far.. tests results are good..

anyway i figured its the maroon that's harassing the BTA too much.. both seemed happier once i separated them.. the 2 baby occs are much gentler lovers and the BTA loves them..
