I bought these little guys at my LFS today advertised as zebra loaches, which I asked him to order for me. I am not sure if they are actual juvenile botia strata or imposters looking for a nice place to live. I have looked at alot of pics online and haven't found anything that looks just like them. Thanks in advance. Sorry about the cell phone picture quality.

Well, they are definitely not Botia striata. Some kind of schistura, they're hard to tell apart. Many are territorial, at least with each other. Common names can cause problems.

Good News!! They went back to the LFS today and he traded me two panda corys for them. :) I also brought in a pic of the correct Botia Striata and he will have them for me next week. Whoo Hoo!

Just a heads up for anyone that might want a Schistera Mahnerti for a community tank, take H3D's advice. At feeding time this morning it was not a pretty sight. The two peaceful looking little fishes morphed into the most aggressive fish I have ever had in my tank. Chasing everyone and nipping at the neons. I also told the LFS owner and help about the aggressiveness and they are moving them to a better suited tank. I love my LFS!!:headbang2:

Glad to see someone is listening to me. :iagree:
