I have just added some Fancy Guppies to my 60 Gallon (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11241) tank. These seem to be fully grown adults. Either way, one of the males has a torn fin - tghe work of a bite, it looks. Go to the link above, or see below for a list of potential fin nippers.

Giant Danios
Balas, (medium and small)
Otos (Don't think so)
Scissor Tail Tetras
Corys
Other Fancy and Feeder Guppies - Male and Female.

Which do you think is doing the damage?

I think it's the Danios, but don't rule out the Scissor-Tails quite yet. Here's a good article on fin-nipping: http://www.bestfish.com/nippers.html

Thanks. The Danios are in a school of 5, the tetra's in 6.

You don't think the Bala's are any problem? One of them is 3-4 inches long, sold as a Medium Bala.

My balas have never nipped anyone's fins. My guess is the danios... I had some in with my balas and they were constantly chasing the balas around, not letting them rest.

The g.d.'s were beautiful, but THAT much... the balas were the "centerpiece" of the tank, so I traded the danios in for store credit.
