My Red Zebras have been mating and I need to get rid of about 40 baby fish once they are about 1/2 to 1 inch long . Just a size I pulled out of the air.
Any suggestions as to the best way to catch small fish?
If I use a net I’ll have to remove everything but the gravel and I’m worried about stressing out the other fish. Has anyone tried siphoning them out or is there something on the market to do this?
Thanks for the advice

there's a thing you can get over here which is like a big glass pipe (the kind you smoke)...you put your finger over the narrow tip and put it in the water, when you take your finger off the vacuum sucks in the fry. Always thought it looked like it would be effective.

siphoning them out should work. i usually try catching during feeding times. also i use two nets one to case the other to catch.

I presume you are talking about fish in your main tank.
Although not the same deal (fry) I have experienced similar problems getting fish out from the display tank, but adults, hence I`m thinking of making some kind of trap that will allow me to get fish out without making a warzone out of the scenery.

Not sure this idea will work for fry, but I keep my fry in a separate tank.

Thanks, the turkey baster with the end cut a little larger and doing it at feeding time sounds good. The lfs will take the small ones and this way I can keep my main fish ant not worry about inbreed breeding. Thanks again
