120g tank (4x2x2). We are planning on having lots of plants and fish, and we're new to this freshwater stuff. We have had reef tanks in the past, and would like to experience the fresh side for awhile. We plan on doing a grass bottom, ya know, foreground plants, mid plants and tall plants in the back. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

Since the main part of your question is lighting/plant related, I'll move this to the plant forum for you.

Hello...I use plastic plants, they seem to live longer for me....:) :welcome:

Hey there...yes the lighting will be in a canopy, and my husband does all the wiring stuff so he knows how to do that. We have had halides before just on a reef tank, so wasn't sure how it would be on freshwater. And the depth of our 120 is 24".

We want a high light tank. What exactly are ferts?? New to this freshwater technical stuff..lol And what is the difference between co2 and just bubbles in the water?
