NEW Visi-Therm Deluxe issue? Rattle

Just got my order in from thatpetplace.com

Stocked up on chemicals, got a new CF lamp....and finally got a visitherm deluxe:

So I take it out of the box and I notice a rattle to it.... I also notice that the top where the dial is, and the collar below it can rotate about a total of 10 degrees. (out of 360).......

Not sure this is normal or not...

I bought the Visi-therm deluxe instead of the stealth as I like the indicator light. I assumed the same quality....

Anyone see the same... is this normal? otherwise I'm sending it back.
 
Sorry, mine are all stealth.
 
depends on whats rattling, could be normal rattle of the heater coils hitting the glass when its shaken, or it could be something broken.

Also, the collar that holds that all together moves, you can even take it off to take the heater apart.

the heater is sealed in the tube with an oring or gasket of some sort, so water still wont get in.

its a submersible heater.
 
I don't use Visi - Therms..but may get one for a back up.....
