They *can* get to be 3", but usually get a little smaller. I think that a school of 11-15 would be okay for that tank.

Best food? Pick up some TetraMin in several different forms, and rotate through them, and that should be good.

They grow to 2.5"-3". Theyll eat any flake food you can find. Id put around 7 or so in a 33 gallon tank; unless of course, you only want tiger barbs, then you can get more (up to 15 say)

Hey, no prob...I love those little fish...I wouldn't mind getting some for a larger tank at some point!

By the way, you need to post pictures of the tank in thanks. :) (Just kidding...I'm a little jealous of the fact that you could take care of that tank!) :)

72!!! wow, i'd like something bigger oneday but right now being stuck in college dorms and all, i can pretty much only fit a 33 in there and still be able to have 2 square feet of floor space :)

I know the feeling. Next year, I'm gonna have two tens and a twenty...perhaps a little more, but my roomie's gonna kill me at some point!

You guys need to be more constructive. Hollow out half of the dresser and hide a fish tank inside, put a fish tank in the closet...

A buddy of mine setup an inflatable pool in his dorm room, he was giving swimming lessons before campus security showed up. :o

hahaha...I could be more constructive...I do have the suite area available, but the suitemates will bring their own tanks, too!
