Ok. I actually feel rather dumb about this, but the comical side of the situation has concvnced me to post the experience.
Looked in a 20 gallon at home housing 15 cardinals, but there were only 14...looked through all four windows, moved a few ornaments, plants, checked the filter, fed them, but there was no sign of the missing cardinal. So now I'm stumped. I walk around the tank a few more times and eventually give up. So I sit down on my couch and put one leg over the other when, wait, what is that little spot on the bottom of my right shoe. Ah, low and behold, there is the missing cardinal...:)

I figure he was dead before I squashed him, poor little bugger.

Unfortunately, death by floor is pretty common among fish like cardinals. I, too, believe that he was dead before you stepped on him. Sorry for your loss, but we thank you for sharing with us.

(By the by, fuzzy logic only tickles when not studied...then it HURTS!:))

My statistics professor recently told me that if I ever feel confused, I can now safely say that I am cofused on a higher level...for some reason, this works for me! Fuzzy logic does tickle!
