Just sharing a picture of my 10 gallon planted tank:

I know it's not great, but I like it. :)

It looks nice :). I like the effect you acheived with the castle and plants. It loks like the plants are growing on the castle.

Thanks. And yes, the plants are growing on the castle, I tied 3 Anubias Nana plants to it. If you look closely you can see the strings. I'll probably attach a Java Fern to it as well.

Just for a refrence point, is that considered a lightly or moderatly planted tank?

Looks really good!
What is that on the right side in the back of the tank?

Rocketman: I would say it's a moderately planted tank, but I'm just guessing. I think it's mostly a matter of opinion.

80gJoe: I beleive it's a Cryptocoryne of some sort. I'll attach a close-up of that plant and maybe someone will know which variety it is.

Looks very nice. Any chance you could tell me what wattage and type lighting you use, and something about your water chemistry...?

It possibly could be cryptocoryne retrospiralis.

80gJoe, your own tank looks great as well. It looks like you have Vallisneria in the front, is this true? My own grow like weeds in my own water (Kh 20, Ph 7,8, 14 ppm DIY Co2, 18 Watt flour.) I am also kind of curious about your own water parameters for the Discus tank and how much the R/O De-Ionized water changes the chemistry?

Another set of superb pics, Molino. Sure that you don't wanna quit that day job and work for TFH or something?

As far as exact changes from R/O De-Ion water -- I don't have those measurements as compared to tap water here. I do believe that without R/O water I may not have had the success I did with my first try at a Discus aquarium.

I'm getting my pressurized CO2 set-up again ...after a complete drain of the tank(CO2 tank) while I was on vacation.

You know ----I'm curious as what the parameters are now! Without the CO2...... Hmmm....

There was Micro Sword up in the front of the aquarium..

Ok I had to work for this one, I haven't tested the water for a month or so. The pH is about 7.8 and the Kh is 4. Usually the pH is down around 7.5 but the current batch of CO2 is running low. Maybe I'll get off my lazy ... and put in a new batch :D I haven't tested any other water parameters.

The lighting is 20 watts (two 10w Compact Flourescents @6500K). I really like these bulbs they screw right into the incandescent canopy.

The fish are 6 White Cloud Mountain Minnows (very underated fish) and one oto.

ChilDawg: Very funny, but what is TFH?

Molino, thanks for the reply - I like the idea of screwing flour. into incandescent fixtures. This is something I'll have to try with my own for experiments sake...

80gJoe, ah, too bad you don't have the parameters - I was curious since the plants seem to be doing extremely well. I could have sworn that was Vallisneria, I'm not familiar with micro sword but they seem to appreciate your water.
