Residents for my Plant Storage/Farm Tank

Okay, I am setting a a 30G breeder (30x18x12) in my basement to hold extra plants and maybe grow them out. Seems a shame to have no residents.

My thoughts:

2 Brig Snails and 6 Ottos.

or

2 Brig Snails and a hatchery of Red Cherry Shrimp


Any other ideas?
 
I was concerned about the combination as they both eat the same thing as their primary diet. Algae
 
My farm tank had 1 cherry srimp with eggs, 1 HUGE oto(removed from my other tank due to it sucking on my discus) and 1 small pleco. I now have 20-30 cherry shrimp. Otos and shrimp=OK
