i haven't experienced any mold or fungi outbreaks in my viv yet, but was just wondering if it is a common problem (i realize some people may actually want fungi and mushrooms in their viv), it seems like moist substrate and generally warm temperatures are perfect for mold,

my temps range from 65-75F and humidity between 50-80%, soil and moss substrate, screen lid, lightly misted daily, plants watered as needed

what measures should i take if mold/fungi spring up?

Me and my sister have never experienced mold or fungi in our tanks, and I can almost gurantee you, you won't either. from what I know, mold or fungi grow in dark areas around organic matter.

You cannot guarentee that. I got mushrooms in my 10 gallon firebelly tank after I left the soil in there so long. Right in the middle of the tank, its dark at night and I keep it wet. But that was regular potting soil, im not sure about the bought stuff.

that actually sounds pretty cool, are the mushrooms bad, or can you leave them in there?

Ill agree having shrooms in your tank does sound pretty cool. I wish I had some in my tank.

Yeah but I was pretty sure mushrooms are toxic, correct? Well some of them maybe. I guess they would have been OK as long as the toads never took a bite out of one, now that I think about it, I should have let them grow and it could have been like a little ornament =P lol
