Ok so i'm trying Kalk in my top off system for the first time. I mixed 1/2tsp of kalk per gallon in 13 gallons of RO water. The problem is that it is still cloudy after sitting overnight, I even added 13tbls of distilled vinegar to help it out but it's still cloudy. Any Suggestions or Ideas of what i may have done wrong?

is it open to the air?
It sometimes does take a while for all of it to dissolve. But if it takes longer than normal, you may just have to try mixing it in a close container. like putting an airtight top on it. The Ca(OH)2 that is Kalk can quite often mix with CO2 from the atmosphere to produce CaCO3, which has a very low solubility. This is actualy the white setiment that is left behind on the bottom of the container. Perhaps you are just are producing a lot of it with an open top or a high CO2 level in the tank room. Or do you have a powerhead running in there by any chance? This would obviously prevent the calcium carbonate form settling to the bottom.

Nope no powerhead. The container is open, i dont have a lid for it. I thought adding the vinegar would counteract the CO2 reaction.
